Michael Bay has sold his Bel Air estate for a pretty profit

“Transformers” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” director Michael Bay knows his way around a blockbuster, even when it comes to real estate.

The action-happy filmmaker has sold his home in the celebrity-preferred enclave of Bel Air in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that New York developer Zach Vella was the buyer of Bay’s residence, which was designed by late Bel Air Country Club and Santa Barbara Museum architect Jack Warner.

While the official sale price is unknown, Bay reportedly turned a tidy profit on the home, which listed for sale in December 2013 for $13.5 million. The director paid just $5.1 million for the property in 1999.
